Arlee Community Development Corporation. $13,500.  The Arlee CDC was formed to help the community be proactive in the on-going community development of the Jocko Valley.  Some areas of interest are the beautification of the community, planned growth and development, a strong community school partnership and community based businesses. www.arleemontana.org

Artemis Common Ground.  $2,500.  Artemis Common Ground’s mission is to further educational and community-based efforts which demonstrate the interdependence of human culture and ecology. Citizens for a Better Flathead. $10,000,  Since 1992, Citizens for a Better Flathead has been a leader at the forefront of addressing the challenges that rapid growth is bringing to our region.  We work to protect clean water, natural beauty and friendly communities through sound planning and policy solutions.  We believe in the power of collaboration and consensus building, and work to inform and engage broad-based public participation in planning for the future of the Flathead.   www.flatheadcitizens.org

Community Food & Agriculture Coalition.  $2,500.   The Community Food and Agriculture Coalition is a coalition that addresses community needs related to food and agriculture in a comprehensive and creative way. The dedicated involvement of citizens, public officials, and people with a range of interests, such as farmers and anti-hunger advocates, is essential to securing the health of our local food and farming system.  http://www.umt.edu/cfa/

Clark Fork Coalition. $25,000.  The Clark Fork Coalition is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Clark Fork River Basin, which stretches from Butte, Montana to Sandpoint, Idaho. www.clarkfork.org

Five Valleys Land Trust. $15,000.   Five Valleys Land Trust works to protect and preserve western Montana's natural legacy - our river corridors. wildlife habitat, agricultural lands and scenic open spaces. Our work has conserved signature places including Mount Jumbo, Mount Sentinel, the Alberton Gorge and McCauley Butte, as well as thousands of acres of working ranches and family farms in western Montana.  www.fvlt.org

Forward Montana. $20,000.  Forward Montana trains, mobilizes, and elects a new generation of progressive leaders for Montana. www.forwardmontana.org   

Home Resource.$5,000. Home Resource collects and sells re-usable building materials to reduce waste, build healthier communities, and promote a more vibrant sustainable local economy.  www.homeresource.org

homeWORD.  $5,000.   homeWORD is a non profit in Missoula and Billings Montana committed to providing safe, healthy affordable housing using sustainable methods and promoting strong communities through housing counseling and education for those most in need.  www.homeword.org

KSKC TV. $1,650.  KSKC-TV is a public television station owned and operated by Salish Kootenai college.  www.kskctv.skc.edu

Montana Audubon. $16,000   Montana Audubon’s mission is to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and conservation of native birds, other wildlife, and their habitats. Montana Audubon has built effective programs in public policy, education, and bird conservation.  This grant will go towards building capacity and promoting Montana solutions to the climate crisis. http://www.mtaudubon.org/

Montana Conservation Voters. $14,500. MCV is a statewide membership organization serving as the political voice of Montana's conservation and environmental community.  www.mtvoters.org

Montana Human Rights Network.  $25,000.  MHRN’s mission is (1) To promote democratic values such as pluralism, equality and justice; challenge bigotry and intolerance; and organize communities to speak out in support of democratic principles and institutions; and (2) To challenge hate groups and other extremists who use violence and intimidation as tools for political activism.   www.mhrn.org.

Montana Nonprofit Association. $20,000.  Montana Nonprofit Association is a membership organization that promotes a stronger nonprofit sector in Montana through public policy, affordable products and services, organizational development, research and information sharing, and network building.  www.mtnonprofit.org

 Montana Women Vote.  $10,000.  Montana Women Vote is committed to increasing the role of women's participation in all aspects of our democracy - through increasing voter turnout, providing information about candidates' stands on issues important to women and their families, and helping women become advocates for changes in public policy

National Center for Appropriate Technology.  $15,000.   NCAT’s mission is Helping People by championing small-scale, local, and sustainable solutions to reduce poverty, promote healthy communities, and protect natural resources.  www.ncat.org

National Coalition Building Institute.  $10,000.  NCBI of Missoula is dedicated to moving individuals, communities and organizations toward a just and inclusive society.  They provide training to reduce prejudice, prevent violence, and resolve conflict, while identifying strategies to strengthen communities and institutions.    www.ncbimissoula.org

Nature Conservancy – Blackfoot Challenge.  $20,000.  The Blackfoot Challenge and the Nature Conservancy are planning to preserve up to 88,000 acres of Plum Creek Timber Co. lands in and around the Blackfoot Valleywww.nature.org

Political Research Associates.  $10,000.  PRA is a progressive think tank devoted to supporting movements that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society.  They expose movements, institutions, and ideologies that undermine human rights. www.publiceye.org

The Policy Institute. $50,000.  The Policy Institute works to change public policy to reflect social justice values by developing and advocating for policy initiatives which frame public discussion in progressive terms like equality, opportunity, and economic justice and by providing leadership development training for social justice leaders in Montanahttp://thepolicyinstitute.us

Rural Dynamics.  $2,500.  Rural Dynamics provides programs and develop partnerships to help youth, individuals, and families achieve economic independence. www.ruraldynamics.org

Sound Alliance.  $15,000.  Sound Alliance is an emerging multi-county organization of diverse religious institutions, education organizations, unions and other civic non-profits. It is driven by the belief that these Mediating Institutions must be strong because they are the cornerstones of a vibrant democratic society and hold the key to mending and reweaving the social fabric essential for strong families, healthy communities and a just world.  www.soundorganizing.org

Sustainable Business Council.  $10,000.  Located in Missoula Montana, the Sustainable Business Council (SBC) supports businesses that would like to pursue more environmentally and socially sustainable practices, while maintaining or enhancing their economic viability.  www.sbcmontana.org.

Sustainable Living Systems.  $2,500.  SLS is a non-profit organization that was formed to demonstrate and teach a way of living where our impact (or footprint) on the Earth's ecosystems is minimized.  www.sustainablelivingsystems.org
University
of Montana Environmental Studies Program.  $56,200.  Environmental Studies Program Fellowships to support and nurture leaders who want to build sustainable food and farming systems in Montana and beyond.  www.cas.umt.edu/evst/default.htm

WEEL.  $5,000.  Working for Equality and Economic Liberation, Inc. is a grassroots, economic and social justice organization that works to eradicate the myths, stereotypes, and stigmas that are harmful to low income families.  This grant funds WEEL's community gardens projects. http://weelempowers.org/

Western Progress.  $25,000.   Western Progress was an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving and enriching the lives of people in the Rocky Mountain West.  www.westernprogress.org

Western Sustainability Exchange. $15,000.   The Corporation for the Northern Rockies (CNR) is a sustainable development non-profit whose mission is "to advance sustainable choices that enhance economic opportunities which preserve open space, wildlife habitat, farm and ranchlands and quality of life for future generations.”   www.westernsustainabilityexchange.org

Wildlands CPR.   $20,000.   Wildlands CPR works to revive and protect wild places by promoting watershed restoration through road removal, preventing new road construction, and stopping off-road vehicle abuse.  www.wildlandscpr.org
Women Donors Network. $15,000.  The Women Donors Network creates a strong community for wealthy women, delivers timely and relevant educational opportunities, and catalyzes philanthropic action to build the movement for progressive change.  www.womendonors.org

Youth Homes.  $10,000.  Youth Homes is a Montana non-profit organization dedicated to caring for children and youth and their families who are in need and/or crisis.  This grant will assist in the creation of a Youth Farm to augment and enhance the work already being done by the Youth Homes organization.  www.youthhomes.com
