Alternative Energy Resource Organization. $10,000.  AERO is a grassroots organization dedicated to solutions that promote resource conservation and local economic vitality.  AERO nurtures individual and community self reliance through programs that support sustainable agriculture, renewable energy and environmental quality.   www.aeromt.org

Arlee Community Development Corporation. $10,000.  The Arlee CDC was formed to help the community be proactive in the on-going community development of the Jocko Valley.  Some areas of interest are the beautification of the community, planned growth and development, a strong community school partnership and community based businesses.  www.arleemontana.org

Artemis Common Ground.  $10,000.  Artemis Common Ground’s mission is to further educational and community-based efforts which demonstrate the interdependence of human culture and ecology. High Plains Films.  $25,000.  High Plains Films give audiences a glimpse of the cultural forces behind some of our most bitter debates on environmental, economic, and social policy. Clark Fork Coalition. $25,000.  The Clark Fork Coalition is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Clark Fork River Basin, which stretches from Butte, Montana to Sandpoint, Idaho. www.clarkfork.org

Community Food & Agriculture Coalition.  $10,000.   The Community Food and Agriculture Coalition is a coalition that addresses community needs related to food and agriculture in a comprehensive and creative way. The dedicated involvement of citizens, public officials, and people with a range of interests, such as farmers and anti-hunger advocates, is essential to securing the health of our local food and farming system.  http://www.umt.edu/cfa

Corporation for the Northern Rockies. $5,000.   The Corporation for the Northern Rockies (CNR) is a sustainable development non-profit whose mission is "to advance sustainable choices that enhance economic opportunities which preserve open space, wildlife habitat, farm and ranchlands and quality of life for future generations.”   www.northrock.org

KSKC TV. $1,650.  KSKC-TV is a public television station owned and operated by Salish Kootenai college.  www.kskctv.skc.edu

Montana Community Development Corporation. $250,000.  MCDC’s mission is to partner with people and communities that want to prosper, providing innovative financing and business development products that create income opportunities for all members of our community.  www.mtcdc.org

Montana Human Rights Network.  $30,000.  MHRN’s mission is (1) To promote democratic values such as pluralism, equality and justice; challenge bigotry and intolerance; and organize communities to speak out in support of democratic principles and institutions; and (2) To challenge hate groups and other extremists who use violence and intimidation as tools for political activism.   www.mhrn.org

Montana Wildlife Federation.  $10,000.  Montana Wildlife Federation is an organization of conservation minded people who share a mission to protect and enhance Montana's public wildlife, lands, and waters. www.montanawildlife.com

National Center for Appropriate Technology.  $25,000.   NCAT’s mission is Helping People by championing small-scale, local, and sustainable solutions to reduce poverty, promote healthy communities, and protect natural resources.  www.ncat.org

National Coalition Building Institute.  $10,000.  The NCBI of Missoula is dedicated to moving individuals, communities and organizations toward a just and inclusive society.  They provide training to reduce prejudice, prevent violence, and resolve conflict, while identifying strategies to strengthen communities and institutions.    www.ncbimissoula.org

Nature Conservancy – Blackfoot Challenge.  $20,000.  The Blackfoot Challenge and the Nature Conservancy are planning to preserve up to 88,000 acres of Plum Creek Timber Co. lands in and around the Blackfoot Valley.  www.nature.org

Political Research Associates.  $10,000.  PRA is a progressive think tank devoted to supporting movements that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society.  They expose movements, institutions, and ideologies that undermine human rights. www.publiceye.org

The Policy Institute. $50,000.  The Policy Institute works to change public policy to reflect social justice values by developing and advocating for policy initiatives which frame public discussion in progressive terms like equality, opportunity, and economic justice and by providing leadership development training for social justice leaders in Montana.  http://thepolicyinstitute.us

University of Montana.  Environmental Studies Program.  $56,200.  Environmental Studies Program Fellowships to support and nurture leaders who want to build sustainable food and farming systems in Montana and beyond.  www.cas.umt.edu/evst/default.htm
